Astro Pub is a soon to open Vintage BarCade in Oklahoma City. Conceptually, the logo reflects various elements of vintage games like Asteroid, Galaga, Space Invaders, MegaMan, Street Fighter, and others combined with the subtle texture of the bubbles of a nice frothy head. A goal was to mimic the 8bit characters common of this medium and era into the logotype. All type characters are individually built from a 9 bit grid. Maintaining clear legibility with this goal was a balancing act. The "A" mimics a vintage arcade spaceship, while the "T & O" will fall comfortably into their places below giving the viewer the satisfaction of a "cleared row" from Tetris.
